An urgent request: Support for Rojava (Western Kurdistan) Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you today about an urgent matter regarding the situation in Rojava (Western Kurdistan). The Kurds in Rojava have built an autonomous region that is now seriously threatened. Forces of the Syrian transitional government, including Turkish-backed SNA militias, are carrying out ongoing military attacks against the region. Very important: During these attacks, thousands of ISIS prisoners were released from prisons. There are also reports that SNA fighters with ISIS symbols are present in conflict areas. I urgently ask you to help with the following points: 1. Support dialogue between the Syrian transitional government and the Autonomous Administration of Rojava. 2. Publicly condemn the military attacks and protect civilians from further attacks. 3. Take international action against the release of ISIS fighters and the resulting security threat. 4. Provide humanitarian aid for the affected civilians. 5. Grant political recognition and protection of Rojava's autonomy. 6. Work toward a peaceful political solution for all of Syria that respects the rights of all peoples. The international community must not stay silent while attacks on the Kurds happen and the release of ISIS fighters creates a new security crisis.
